A recent email from Wentworth
Woodhouse said that The House will be open as soon as it is safe to do so.
Hopefully the gardens will be open
early in July, along with outdoor events.
The results of the art competition:
Life and Times of The Big House; were posted, and there will be an installation
in the Autumn on the front lawn called The Flock. This will consist of 10,000
wooden birds, on which people can write their experiences of the pandemic.
If any members have tickets for
future events, they will be contacted by Andrew Jones – The Bookings Officer,
as soon as possible.
In order to raise money for the The
House, 500 original Westmoreland roof tiles have been made into unique works of
art, and are on sale for £200 each. Each
one has been put into a beautiful box.
Other methods of fund raising are by shopping with Ebay, John Lewis,
Argos, ASOS, M&S, Expedia etc.
Further details can be obtained through the Wentworth Woodhouse website.
It is good to know that the roof
repairs are back on track.
A committee meeting is planned for
September 20th, after which, the newsletter will be circulated. Hopefully, there will be news about the 2021

The evening of dance will be a fitting tribute to Nadine, who passed away on October 4 th 2016.
Each year we give an award for deserving cases, and this year we gave £200 to St.Stephens school for the purchase of netball posts. The school has made good use use of them by getting in lot of practice in breaks and dinner times.
They played their first tournament in Nov (2016) and won the section and made it through to the final where they lost just 1 - 0. They have now been successful in qualifying for the next district competition in January 2017.
